practice, using ongoing needs-assessment processes to remain responsive to
the fields; and 2) effective partnership between addiction treatment and criminal
justice, healthcare, academia, and state and local governments.
Funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, currently
serving Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The Great Lakes
ATTC is one of 14 Addiction Technology Transfer Centers and a National office
across the country.
What We Do
Culturally competent didactic, clinical and experiential training; workforce
development and upgrading standards; curriculum development; information dissemination
through a regional Web site; quarterly bulletin; resource center library;
and a Center for Excellence in Criminal Justice.
Our Mission
To make effective, culturally competent research-based treatment services
available to people with substance abuse disorders, through research to practice
activities for the professionals, trainers, and educators who serve them.
